Nip/Tuck Doc Has Biteby Angel Cohn


Joining the cast of any show is a little bit daunting, but joining the cast of a show like Nip/Tuck where you never know what will happen has really got to be overwhelming. But Bruno Campos has been reveling in his role as Nip/Tuck's scheming surgeon Quentin Costa. TVGuide.com gave the 32-year-old former Jesse star a call to discuss the upcoming episodes of the show leading to the season finale on Dec. 20th — and maybe, just maybe, to find out some clues about the Carver's identity.

TVGuide.com: It seems like all of a sudden Quentin is a full-on bad guy. It is a little surprising.
Bruno Campos: I guess it is surprising. To me, it's less surprising because I knew it was coming. They still shock the hell out of me when I get the scripts. I see Quentin… he's kind of like a vampire. He takes no prisoners in his way of being. The way I see him, he's much like Christian except without the guilt. That makes a very dangerous human being.

TVGuide.com: But very fun to watch.
Campos: Hopefully it's fascinating. You're watching a predator roam around. It's like watching a shark in the water.

TVGuide.com: That whole scene with the military corporal where you basically just threatened him — wow!
Campos: That scene was so interesting to me, because it was very vampiric. Did you see the premiere?

TVGuide.com: Yes.
Campos: Do you remember when I inspected Christian's scar? Quentin is very interested in the wounds of people. He's very interested in whatever they might be hiding in their wounds. He feeds off their emotionality. When he sees this scar, it's very important to him. He really identifies with this kind of haunted quality. I see him as this vampiric kind of thing. It's hinted at slowly.

TVGuide.com: Did you know what you were getting into when you signed up?
Campos: [Laughs] I knew that I was joining Nip/Tuck, and that came with a set of expectations. I think it's fair to say that I've been given the Nip/Tuck treatment. Definitely. I did not know specifically what I was going to be doing at all. I knew that I was going to cause trouble… that I knew. And I declared war on them.

TVGuide.com: Obviously relationships on the show don't last very long. When Quentin's done with Julia, who's next?
Campos: [Laughs] Who's next? Well, at that point, he'll have practically burned every bridge he ever built. I could tell you, but what fun would that be?

TVGuide.com: OK, then can you tell me who the Carver is?
Campos: It's funny, because I know so many people speculate on what's going to happen. I will say this: It's not guessable what is going to happen. I just haven't heard of anybody — none of my friends, people who watch the show — nobody has guessed. We're wrapped now, so I know what happens. I'll just tell you this: You'll never guess, never in a million years.

TVGuide.com: So you didn't have a little betting pool on set about who the Carver was?
Campos: We did have a pool.

TVGuide.com: So who won?
Campos: I won $100 off Joely [Richardson]. And I'm framing it! She wrote me a check for $100 and I made her write "You win, I lost" in the corner.

TVGuide.com: It sounds like you have fun behind the scenes.
Campos: We're all partaking in this mystery that everybody wants to have the scoop on. It's very interesting. It's not like an Agatha Christie type of mystery, where it ends up being the butler.

TVGuide.com: Right, with the candlestick...
Campos: Right. You're not going to guess it, but at the same time, it makes sense. It's not random, it totally fits in with the scenes and the psychology of Nip/Tuck. What has always been the most interesting thing about this Carver thing to me is not who it is — although that is interesting — but more importantly for me, why? Why is the Carver, as opposed to who is the Carver.

TVGuide.com: Have you gotten any other scripts and seen anything too over the top, even for this show?
Campos: Yeah. Everything's over the top.

TVGuide.com: At any time were you were like, "That's too far?"
Campos: You know what it is? Like that scene with the corporal. I don't know how many times anal sex has been shown between two men on television. I would guess not too much. I would guess probably one to two [times], or zero. You're the expert.

TVGuide.com: Not too much on nonpay channels, but more on shows like Queer as Folk and Oz. Wait, how did I get to be an expert on that?
Campos: [Laughs] You read stuff like that and there's a shock only because it hasn't been done. There are some other shocks that will be done, particularly in Episodes 14 and 15, which are going to play as one episode on the 20th.

TVGuide.com: How is your relationship with Julian McMahon and Dylan Walsh off screen, since it so tense on screen?
Campos: It's been fun for me to walk onto a show.… I was the new kid in school for the first few months.

TVGuide.com: Did they tease you at all?
Campos: No, but I got to grab Christian's ass and I got to wink at Sean. We had to do all these fun things like that together. Julian, Rhona Mitra and Kelly Carlson and I were all in bed together for eight hours, and I'm basically massaging his ass. Once you do that, all the tension either explodes or breaks. We ended up laughing about it. What can I say?

TVGuide.com: How have you been doing with the technical lingo?
Campos: I made a point of observing, I observed a lot of surgeries before joining the show. It was really great, and the doctors and patients who let me watch were really generous to do so.

TVGuide.com: I take it you're not the squeamish type?
Campos: I didn't know if I was going to be squeamish. I saw heads being split open and chests being flayed apart. The first time I saw that, it was very invasive. When you see someone's face pried apart… it freaked me out, but I got used to it. These guys do that every day. I went to one surgery that was 10 hours. The doctor let me feel the inside muscles. I can now say I know what the inside of your face feels like, which is bizarre that I could ever do that. To answer that question, it feels like pizza.

TVGuide.com: Those are the parts of the show I watch with my eyes half-closed.
Campos: [Laughs] I remember that facial transplant we did, I watched that episode with some friends and they all looked away. Did that happen to you?

TVGuide.com: Yep. But then they did that facial surgery for real just a few weeks ago. You guys are really cutting-edge.
Campos: I know, we did it a couple of weeks before the French did it. We beat the French! Except ours failed and apparently theirs was successful.

TVGuide.com: Have you run into fans who are freaked out about your character?
Campos: This girl I went to college with called me and said "you're a twisted bastard of the highest order." Isn't that nice?

TVGuide.com: Is it hard to relate to someone like that? You seem like a nice guy.
Campos: Thank you.

TVGuide.com: You could be totally lying to me, but you seem really kind.
Campos: [Jokingly] Yes, you're speaking to my robot that I programmed to be nice to you. It's fun. It is a first because he doesn't have normal reactions. If you ask a normal person how they're doing, they'll say "I'm not so good." You ask Quentin that, and there's this pause as if he wants to invade your psyche, and then he'll go "maybe I'm good." It's always a mystery. He doesn't give you straight answers, and when he does, it's designed for an effect, and not always a good effect. He's three steps ahead. When Quentin decides he's against you, he's out for blood. And it's cold. It's calculated, and there's a quiet, still viciousness to it.

TVGuide.com: I feel like you're hinting at something.
Campos: You think that, and everybody thinks that. I'm just saying… I know a lot of people have speculated, but it's not quite as cut and dry, not as obvious.

Peccato che non ci sia una bella foto del Bruno Decisamente sbaverei di più
L'aggettivo "vampiresco" è quanto mai appropriato per il personaggio di Quentin. Io lo definirei anche "sanguisuga".
Comunque dall'intervista sembra che il nostro Bruno sia un tipo simpatico, decisamente diverso da Quentin.
Credo che a girare le loro scene si siano divertiti ... mi piacerebbe vedere qualche gag

Ecco qui per voi una novità sul caro amato/odiato (il carveruzzo nostro) Bruno Campos alias Quentin Carver Costa.

La notizia è stata pubblicata sul Variety di Febbraio 23, 2006.
Sembra che il nostro Bruno sia impegnato in un nuovo progetto della NBC.

Cary Elwes (Saw, The Princess Bride) has taken the lead in NBC comedy Sky, while Bruno Campos (Nip/Tuck) will star in NBC's untitled Chris Sheridan project, reports Variety.

Kal Penn (Superman Returns, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle) will also star in ABC's untitled Danny Comden comedy, while Kelly Hu (X2: X-Men United) and Greg Germann (Ally McBeal) have joined ABC's In Case of Emergency.

Elwes will play politician Mark Haskett, who dies and is given a second shot at living in the guise of another character, Chris Dalness. NBC Universal TV and Conaco are behind the pilot, which will also star Missi Pyle (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) as Heather Haskett and Matthew Morrison (Once Upon a Mattress) as Hudson Chanticleer.

Meanwhile, Campos will play a museum thief and family man in the Chris Sheridan project. That project, from 20th Century Fox TV, follows two brothers who live next door to each other: one, played by Campos, is a lifelong criminal, while the other is an FBI agent.

As for Penn, the actor is set to play Max in the Comden comedy, sometimes referred to as Jump. Penn will star opposite Scott Caan, Bonnie Somerville and Comden in the Warner Bros. TV show.

Also, Hu will star as Dara in In Case of Emergency, the Touchstone TV comedy about four childhood friends who realize they're not where they thought they would be in life. Germann will play Sherman.

Michael Gaston (Far From Heaven) has been cast as Gray Anderson in CBS' Jericho.

Jacob Pitts (Eurotrip) will play Ryan in CBS' untitled Carol Mendelsohn pilot.

CBS has elected to push back the drama Under Pressure. The project, about deep sea divers who investigate mysteries, won't be developed for this season. CBS Paramount Network TV was behind the show.

Esatto ... ma mi intriga ... e poi io sbavo senza ritegno anche su di lui, indipendentemente dalla parte che interpreta
Comunque Nip/Tuck fa un grande effetto anche su di lui. Comincia a farsi conoscere anche lui come Julian e Dylan , e se lo merita.

Dopo un pò di tempo ecco di nuovo che si sente parlare del nostro Bruno "Costa-Carver" Campos.

Sembra che il nostro Psicopatico-Killer preferito sia stato tagliato fuori dal ruolo principale che inizialmente avrebbe douto interpretare in "Wedding Album".
Il network cercherà di riselezionarlo non appena vedrà i risultati di ascolto del Pilot.

Hola: antes que nada quiero que sepan que esta carta no la pude escribir en ingles ya que estoy en proceso de aprendizaje y no es muy bueno que digamos. El origen de esta carta es de México Querétaro, tengo 22 años y mi historia comienza cuando tenía 17 años en esa etapa de mi vida asistía a la preparatoria a decir verdad era una época muy feliz de mi vida llevaba buenas calificaciones y la relación con las personas de mi entorno eran buenas por no decir excepcionales , al parecer todo marchaba bien hasta q una noche comencé a tener un sueño muy raro al cual no le tome importancia ,voy a tratar de escribir brevemente parte de el, por qué se que nunca terminaría de contarlo , en el sueño aparecía yo en una época en la cual ya investigue que era la colonial y me parece que vivía en una hacienda que era muy hermosa, ciertamente llevo muy grabado en mi mente este sueño y algunos detalles clave ,ya que fue en repetidas ocasiones que tuve el sueño, bueno continuando con la descripción del mismo al parecer yo estaba enfermo de algo ya que siempre me veía en cama o en al ventana viendo a los caballos recuerdo que una noche dentro de mi sueño mis padres a los cuales nunca vi el rostro habían organizado una fiesta en las cual, se ve que asistió gente muy importante ya que todas las personas iban de gala el punto es que dentro de mi mismo sueño yo sentía una tristeza inexplicable y recuerdo que había salido al patio a sentarme debajo de un manzano recuerdo que tenía un aroma muy agradable fue entonces; que sentí que alguien me tocaba el hombro y eso me reconforto en ese momento voltee , para ver de quien se trataba y era un caballero y recuerdo que me decía que sea lo que sucediera no tenia por que ponerme triste eso de verdad me reconfortaba , increíblemente cuando despertaba amanecía con una paz increíble y comenzaba mi día muy alegre .Durante casi cada tres días soñaba casi lo mismo obviamente al principio creí que era coincidencia hasta que comencé creer que era algo mas , como un aviso , una señal, un mensaje, no lo sé el punto es que sin que supiera nadie, comencé a investigar en internet que esos tipos de sueños, pueden ser de mi vida pasada a lo cual me reí a carcajadas …… acto seguido definitivamente podría ser esa la respuesta …..Preocupado, pero al mismo tiempo emocionado me dispuse a ir a la escuela y continuar con mi vida diaria, sin saber que esa noche ese sueño sería diferente ; bien llegue a mi casa, cene hice mi tarea y me dispuse de dormir, pero en el sueño ahora me veía en una cena con el caballero que con sus palabras me reconfortaba el espíritu y el ánimo ,recuerdo a una sirvienta la cual cada que me veía al rostro me sonreía de una forma muy tierna , en la cena disfrutaba estar en compañía de el caballero, y creo que el también se alegraba de estar conmigo pues lo veía muy sonriente después de esa cena me veía afuera de la hacienda en el mismo manzano donde lo conocí, recuerdo que me acaricio la cara y me robo ..Un beso….. y de nueva cuenta esa sensación de tranquilidad , paz armonía invadía mi cuerpo, de verdad; es una sensación que no se puede describir con palabras ,sino que es necesario sentirla, después de eso comencé a sentir una sensación de tristeza y dolor y nuevamente me encontraba solo en mi cama con una sentimiento de que era el fin de mi vida y ciertamente creo que lo era ya que veía a la sirvienta llorando y me entregaba una nota en la cual me decía que mi padre había puesto en el licor, un liquido el cual no pudo ella evitar que lo bebiera yo y la persona que estaba conmigo esa noche ,ya que según mi padre no iba a permitir que lo nuestro siguiera ,ni siquiera en mi otra vida, esa fue la última vez que vi a esa señora y la nota en mi sueño, cuando desperté con un sobresalto y envuelto en llanto, después de esa noche , ese sueño era tan recurrente que se empezaba a convertir en un martirio el llegar a dormir, pues era como una pesadilla, así fue como soporte durante casi dos años soñando esas cosas , obvio no recurrí a nadie ya que me iban a tomar por loco o algo así .
La relación con mis padres, a diferencia de ese sueño es, que tengo una buena relación con ellos; aunque considero que hay cosas que son tan personales , es decir ; de nuestra esencia que no son fáciles de compartir ,pero creo que fueron a las primeras persona a las que debí haber recurrido no creen?
Creo que llego el momento de que lean la parte más complicada para mí y tal vez para la persona a la que está dirigida esta carta, la persona de ese sueño existe en realidad y me entere de ello en la tele una tarde del sábado me disponía descansar de la escuela y todos mis rollos cuando anunciaron una serie llamada “profile” y en el aparecía la persona de mi sueño…..Ya se imaginaran como me quede, es decir en shock total pues nunca imagine que hubiera una persona tan parecida o igual a la de mi sueño comencé a indagar esa misma tarde en la compu en internet y su nombre es Julián Mcmahon ,leí su biografía y me di cuenta de que es muy distinto a lo que yo soñaba, aunque no lo he tratado personalmente, obviamente no creía poder conocerlo en persona, pues había muchos impedimentos, la distancia, el idioma (aunque estoy aprendiendo ingles y francés), el que se prestara a escucharme, su familia , mi familia , etc. Y comenzó mi resignación…. algunas veces algo me convencía que luchara para conocerlo y terminar así de una vez por todas esto que me sucedía… aunque nunca lo logre, estuve a un paso ya que me iban a becar para viajar a Canadá y practicar el ingles, aunque nunca se concreto nada esa fue la última vez que lo intente.
Ahora a mis 22 años he tomado la decisión de tratar por ese medio de conocerlo y tratar de que alguien lea esta carta y me ayude a que él lo lea solo para ver que piensa y si coincide en algo conmigo.
Es por eso que mi única suplica es que me conteste esta carta saber que por lo menos la leyó y tener la certeza que lo sabe…. Aunque no me conozca, no quiero que piense que soy un fanático o que estoy obsesionado con él, nada de eso, actualmente trabajo y estudio en la universidad, mi vida continua normal, solo añoro lo tranquilidad , que me transmitía Julián en mis sueños y bueno aunque lo único malo es que nunca he tenido una relación amorosa afectiva por este motivo, no significa que mi vida se detendrá .ojala la persona que lea esta carta entienda lo valioso que es para mí que llegue a manos de Julián Mcmahon.

Sin mas por mi parte, creo…. que ya exprese lo que sentía y solo valdría agregar un agradecimiento a quien me ayude a hacerle llegar esta carta y o podérsela leer por aquello de que esta en español.
